examples are drinking water, municipal and industrial wastewater resuse,
landfill leachate, food and dairy processing, boiler feddwater, irrigation,
beverage, cheese, mining, poultry, ecoat paint, pharmaceuticals, breweries,
wine, potato processing, etc.
A
negative pressure, immersed design, spiral wound membranes, using aeration
and periodic backflushing, has shown superior operating performance when
compared to other UF designs. The low net driving pressure of an inmmersed
system minimizes energy costs and membrane fouling. Adhesion
of particulate matter into the membrane pores is reduced, and easily removed
during backflushing and air scouring. |
